Firefalls
Firefalls is located in the Portland Japanese Gardens, Oregon. This is taken on the same day as Under the Canopy. These Lace Leaf Maples are my favourite types of trees. Green all year except for the last two weeks of October as they progress through a spectrum of colours, first going yellow then orange and then red. If you're lucky they will turn a deep fiery red as shown here.
This particular scene was captured with a half-second long exposure, long enough to allow for the waterfall to blur in the background, but just quick enough to keep the leaves still from any movement. This was the very last day of colour in the gardens as that evening it rained stripping away all the beauty.

The Process Behind Fine Art Aluminum

The finished product has a brightness, colour vibrancy and clarity that cannot be rivalled with any other printing technique. Each piece also comes with a backing that gives the photo depth and allows it to float elegantly on your wall.
Finish: Each piece is finished with a unique Anti-Reflective coating developed specifically for fine art photography. The anti-reflective finish is perfect for a wide range of lighting situations while still producing a bright and vibrant image. The finish also includes a special UV coating to fully protect the piece from exposure to direct sunlight.

How do you hang the aluminum pieces?
All of our pieces come ready to hang with wall bracket mounts or a wire connected to the frame on the back. More information on hanging can be found on our FAQ page.
What does ‘Limited Edition’ mean?
Limited Edition means there will only ever be 75 pieces (any size) produced of Firefalls. As the piece sells, the price increases. Once the edition sells out, there will never be another reprint of this photograph.
Can I pick up locally at the gallery?
Absolutely! We always prefer to meet in person and show you how incredible the photos look on the fine art aluminum. You can order online and request a pickup from our Canmore gallery location.
