Memories Of The Lake
My family grew up with this aluminum boat, allowing my childhood days to be spent exploring and fishing on our local lakes. I wanted to pay tribute to all of the memories created by spending this time on the water.
Wedge Pond is a small, unassuming body of water that can be easily bypassed in the Kananaskis valley. Every fall I drive and hike along Highway 40, scouting for new compositions and new ideas. On this calm morning, I departed with the boat and dropped anchor in the middle of the lake. The air was crisp on this cool fall morning and as the sun rose, it warmed the brilliant fall foliage allowing the oranges and yellows to perfectly reflect off the calm water. A slow shutter speed allowed the water to take on a smooth texture, reminding me of paintings I used to admire at a young age. I was fortunate enough to have a gust of wind scatter a few leaves into the water as well. Sometimes you just have to embrace the luck nature can throw your way!

The Process Behind Fine Art Aluminum
White Aluminum: All of our pieces are made using a special printing process where ink is heat transferred directly onto a single sheet of white aluminum. We use this aluminum due to the luminescence of the metal surface and guarantee of lasting a century without any fading. The finished product has a brightness, colour vibrancy and clarity that cannot be rivalled with any other printing technique. Each piece also comes with a backing that gives the photo depth and allows it to float elegantly on your wall.
Finish: Each piece is finished with a unique Anti-Reflective coating developed specifically for fine art photography. The anti-reflective finish is perfect for a wide range of lighting situations while still producing a bright and vibrant image. The finish also includes a special UV coating to fully protect the piece from exposure to direct sunlight.

How do you hang the aluminum pieces?
All of our pieces come ready to hang with wall bracket mounts or a wire connected to the frame on the back. More information on hanging can be found on our FAQ page.
What does ‘Limited Edition’ mean?
Limited Edition means there will only ever be 200 pieces (any size) produced of Memories Of The Lake. As the piece sells, the price increases. Once the edition sells out, there will never be another reprint of this photograph.
Can I pick up locally at the gallery?
Absolutely! We always prefer to meet in person and show you how incredible the photos look on the fine art aluminum. You can order online and request a pickup from our Canmore gallery location.
