Maternal Grace
Sitting alone on a cliff in Maui, tears rolling down my face, I watched the wildlife of the sea through my drone screen. At this point I knew this was what I would do with my life. Observing, researching and documenting wildlife.
It was this same trip that a magazine story caught my eye, as a retired navy seal spoke of his top locations for diving, specifically with whales, and that place was Tahiti.
In 2022 I visited Mo’orea, Tahiti with the intention to swim with these graceful creatures. After two unsuccessful boat tours, the third made it all worth it as a humpback whale and her newborn came to check us out. They timidly passed a few times, as she was hiding her little one on her far side. Finally, on the fourth pass, she released her newborn to swim on its own.

The Process Behind Fine Art Aluminum
White Aluminum: All of our pieces are made using a special printing process where ink is heat transferred directly onto a single sheet of white aluminum. We use this aluminum due to the luminescence of the metal surface and guarantee of lasting a century without any fading. The finished product has a brightness, colour vibrancy and clarity that cannot be rivalled with any other printing technique. Each piece also comes with a backing that gives the photo depth and allows it to float elegantly on your wall.
Finish: Each piece is finished with a unique Anti-Reflective coating developed specifically for fine art photography. The anti-reflective finish is perfect for a wide range of lighting situations while still producing a bright and vibrant image. The finish also includes a special UV coating to fully protect the piece from exposure to direct sunlight.

How do you hang the aluminum pieces?
All of our pieces come ready to hang with wall bracket mounts or a wire connected to the frame on the back. More information on hanging can be found on our FAQ page.
What does ‘Limited Edition’ mean?
Limited Edition means there will only ever be 75 pieces (any size) produced of Maternal Grace. As the piece sells, the price increases. Once the edition sells out, there will never be another reprint of this photograph.
Can I pick up locally at the gallery?
Absolutely! We always prefer to meet in person and show you how incredible the photos look on the fine art aluminum. You can order online and request a pickup from our Canmore gallery location.
Do you ship worldwide?
